Marianne Bird Bear is the Assistant Dean for Administration for the Division of International Studies. She is the manager of human resources, financial strategies, and space for the Division, and represents the Dean and the Division on various campus committees. In addition, she works closely with the Dean, the Division staff, and our campus partners to coordinate and develop special initiatives to increase and enhance international education at the UW-Madison. Prior to joining the Division, Marianne worked for 12 years as the Director of International Engineering Studies and Program in the College of Engineering at UW-Madison. She is a member of the Executive Board for the Global Engineering Education Exchange at the Institute of International Education, participated in the UW Kaufmann Administrative Development Program, and served as a facilitator for the UW Leadership Institute. Marianne studied in Belgium, France, and taught English in Japan.
